Anti-ds DNA (Anti Double standard DNA) is a collection of autoantibodies created by the abnormal Immune system. Sometimes Antibodies are triggered against self-antigens of the body, thus affecting the healthy cells and proteins mistakenly. Anti-ds-DNA IFA (Indirect Fluorescent Antibody)method is a primary test to examine the autoantibodies of the blood specimen to diagnose autoimmune disorders like Lupus (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus –SLE).

CLINICAL INFORMATION :
Anti-ds DNA – immune fluorescent antibody (IFA) test is performed to help diagnose lupus (systemic lupus erythematosis - SLE) in a person who has a positive result on test for antinuclear antibody (ANA) and has clinical manifestations that suggest lupus.
General instructions:
Sample Requirement: Specimen - Blood sample taken from the vein. Test Preparation: None.
