Amoebiasis Antibodies IgG

Entamoeba Histolyticais a parasite that causes AMOEBIASIS(infection in the intestine). This test screens the antibody’s response against the Entamoebahistolytica. Antibody IgG is used to differentiate amoebiasis from the other infection of the liver and pancreas.

AMOEBIASIS ANTIBODY (IgG):

Why Amoebiasis test?

CLINICAL INFORMATION :

AMOEBIASIS is detected by a non-invasive and more specific and sensitive antibody IgG (levels are increased in systemic infection or chronic stages) screening test performed in patient’s blood specimen. Moreover, the antibody (IgG) detection test is a useful tool for differential diagnosis to rule out other causes of liver cysts and pancreatic function. This IgG-antibody test enables the confirmation of pre-abscess hepatic amoebiasis. Diagnosis of intestinal amoebiasis is confirmed by microscopic examination of stool samples to screen and identify ova and parasites for the presence of parasitic infection by the causative agent E.histolytica is obsolete as recommended by WHO. Complications of amoebic colitis include fulminating or necrotizing colitis, toxic megacolon, amoeboma, bowel perforation, GI bleeding, stricture formation, intussusception, peritonitis, empyema, etc. The signs and symptoms of amoebiasis include bloody diarrhea, stomach pains, cramps, nausea, loss of appetite, and fever. Other tests include laboratory diagnosis of amoebiasis is made by demonstrating the organism or by employing immunologic techniques (detection of IgGantibodies) in addition to standard blood tests, culture, microscopy (identify ova and parasite), serological methods like ELISA, indirect hemagglutination assay (IHA), latex agglutination and IgE levels (usually elevated levels are seen during allergies and parasitic infestations) are increased in infection to foreign invaders like parasites.
