Creatinine is a waste compound formed in the muscles. Normally this is filtered out by kidneys and released in urine. This serum creatinine test is done to check the values in urine and blood and to determine the functions of the kidneys along with other related pathologies.24-hours urine creatinine clearance test compares the amount of creatinine in a patient’s blood that is filtered and excreted in urine over a period of 24 hours time interval. 24-HOURS URINE CREATININE CLEARANCE:

Creatinine Clearance test is also known as CRCL and CCT. Creatinine produced by the breakdown of creatine. The kidney eliminates creatinine in the urine. CRCL is used to monitor the function of the Kidney and detecting kidney-related diseases.

CLINICAL INFORMATION :

This test is usually done for conditions such as infections to kidneys like glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis, enlarged prostate, blockage of the urinary tract due to kidney stones, decreased blood flow to the kidneys (dehydration, diabetes, and congestive heart failure), drug abuse, and infections to kidneys such as post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis, kidney damage or kidney failure, etc. This test is suggested in patients with symptoms like fatigue, muscle cramps, trouble in sleeping, loss of appetite, lower back pain, changes in urine output and frequencies, high blood pressure, swelling or fluid retention, nausea, and vomiting, etc. Other associated tests include Jaffe’s method, enzymatic methods, colorimetric methods, kit methods, spectrometric methods, etc.
