TRIGLYCERIDES:
Triglycerides kind of fat and it is an important source of the energy to our Body. This regular lipid panel detects heart-related issues and screening lipid-lowering therapy ((prognosis during lipid-lowering drugs). This test recommended for one who has signs of cardiovascular diseases.
CLINICAL INFORMATION :
This test is usually done for patients with high triglycerides levels in the body and also it predicts the risk of developing diseases in the blood vessels like atherosclerosis, stroke, peripheral artery disease, obesity, heart diseases, and acute inflammation of the pancreas causing acute pancreatitis along with other related pathologies. This test is usually done for patients with symptoms such as chest pain, nausea, fatigue, shortness of breath, pain in the neck, jaw, upper abdomen, numbness, or cold extremities of hands and legs. The common diseases it can lead to are obesity, poorly controlled diabetes, hypothyroidism, kidney diseases, certain inherited lipid disorders (familial type) and certain drug-induced types such as estrogen therapy used for menopause symptoms can increase TG levels. Some of the risk factors include a fat-rich diet (saturated fat), excessive intake of animal fat, obesity, lack of exercise and sedentary lifestyle, smoking, age, comorbid conditions like diabetes (Hereditary factors), etc. Other associated tests include an enzymatic method, fluorometric method, spectrometric methods and kit methods, etc.
