This test measures the number of white blood cells in the patient’s blood. WBC differential count determines the percentage of each type of white blood cell and also detect immature WBC and abnormalities if present.

DIFFERENTIAL TEST:

Differential blood testing is for counting the number of white blood cells (All types of WBC sub-types) of your body. WBC plays a vital role in constructing the immune system. WBC has an important role in the normal physiology of the immune system. This Cytometry flow performed to detect inflammation diseases, immunity diseases, anemia, and Leukaemia.

CLINICAL INFORMATION :

This test is usually done for the medical diagnosis of certain abnormalities such as neutropenia, aplastic anemia, infections, etc. This test is suggested in patients with symptoms such as body aches, fever, chills, headaches, fatigue, shortness of breath, etc. Other associated tests include Neubauer counting chamber (stained by Romanofsky stain or May-Grunewald-Giemsa technique), flow cytometer, etc. 

These flow cytometers performed to detect inflammatory diseases, immunity-related diseases such as HIV-AIDS, and other conditions such as anemia, Leukaemia, congenital conditions, etc.

General instructions:

Sample Requirement: Specimen - Blood sample taken from the fingertip (capillary blood specimen). Test Preparation: None (thin-film slide preparation of blood specimen and fixative agent and staining is performed to observe under a gross microscope).

NOTE - Sample for specimen collections may vary based on the patient’s condition/cases according to the patient’s presenting complaints/signs or symptoms:
